Her height is no indication of the high notes her voice reaches. Born in Argentina, she brings with her a hot, Latin temperament.
Graduate of the Music Academy in Jerusalem, she has appeared as soloist with various orchestras and choirs in Israel. She was a member of the Israel Opera Choir.
Ira Kalichman – soprano
Despite her wonderful voice, Ira refuses to sing solo parts (anyone who can persuade her to do so will receive a prize), but she loves to sing with the ensemble.
Has a second degree in Choir Conducting from the Gnessin Music Academy in Moscow.
She is currently conductor of the Uriah Choir in Savyon, the Lev Tel-Aviv Choir and the Emek Hayarden Choir.

Avivit Menahem – mezzo-soprano
A member of the rock-steady alto section, whose members have been singing together in the Ensemble from the last millennium!
Graduate of the Department of Musicology of Tel Aviv University and the Rubin Academy of Music. After her graduation she joined NIVE and also sang in the Tel-Aviv Collegium, the Philharmonia Singers and the Vocal Collegium in Holland. Has appeared as soloist with the Spirito Baroque Ensemble and Musica Nova.
Idit Bigel – alto
The most senior singer of the Ensemble, a member from the day of its foundation.
A graduate of the Rubin Music Academy in TAU; continued her studies in the Opera Department of the Munich High School of Music and with Hilda Zadek in Vienna. Has appeared as soloist with a variety of orchestras and chamber groups.
Idit is also a member of the Jerusalem Madrigal Quartet.
A real child of nature, she raises twins in Kfar Malal and is responsible for the contact between the members of the Ensemble and its management.
Era Givoni – alto
Has the smallest shoe size in the Ensemble, but don't worry – it is still in two digits.
Studied singing with Dorit Atzmon. Was a member of the Cameran Singers, the "Perfect Fifth" Quintet and the Philharmonia Singers. Today, in addition to being a member of NIVE, she teaches singing. Has frequently appeared as soloist in concerts and festivals, such as Abu-Gosh, Musica Sacra in Nazareth and others.
Noa Doron- Alto
Tal Koch – tenor
ecently has become addicted to chocolate and watching Channel 33 in the middle of the night.
A graduate of the Rimon School of Jazz and the Levinsky College of Music. Studied singing with Era Givoni and with Rita Dams (Holland). Took part in the theatre workshop at Yoram Levinstein's Drama School. Tal has participated in plays at the HABIMA National Theatre and appeared as soloist with NIVE (at the Abu Gosh Festival) and with the Kibbutz Artzi Choir.
A young tenor, energetic and promising, who also composes and performs original material.
Oded Amir – tenor
The most senior member of the NIVE singers. Perhaps that's the reason why he likes Heinrich Shuetz (born 1585) so much.
Member of the late Cameran Singers, the deceased Rinat Choir and the Perfect Fifth Quintet, and has performed many solo parts.
He gets his kick out of being one of a small, high-quality group.
Is pedantic about finishing rehearsals on time, so that he can return to work as quickly as possible.
Yuval Ben-Ozer – tenor
If you think you have come across the name before you are not wrong. You met him under the title of Music Director.
Yuval likes singing even more than conducting and enjoys every occasion when there is a guest conductor to be with the singers. Studied singing in addition to conducting at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and the School of Music at the University of Indiana, USA.
Hobbies: ski and roller-blades.

Ronen Ravid – bass
The jewel in our Ensemble – that's why he's in the jewelry manufacturing business as the owner of a prestigious firm.
Is a volunteer in the Traffic Police – beware, you've been warned!Ronen studied singing with Tamar Rachum at the Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and with Fruda Ollsen in Oslo and has appeared as soloist with other orchestras and music groups.
Has chosen to leave the experience of singing with the Israel Opera Choir behind him.
Yoel Sivan – bass
A carpenter with hands of gold, with which he builds bows for Baroque instruments. French-born singer and conductor and a graduate of the Academy and the University of Music in Toulouse, in choir conducting and ancient music. Ambassador of French culture in the Ensemble. His French is not bad. Frequently conducts professional and amateur groups in Israel, France, Italy and Holland and is regularly invited abroad as guest conductor in master classes for choirs.
Kedem Berger – baritone
An unlimited source of knowledge on all matters concerning works of music, their performance and recordings. Studied at the Academy of Music and the Department of Psychology in TAU.
Peter Simpson - Baritone
Peter began singing as a boy chorister in the UK when he was too young to know any better. His life has revolved around music - in one form or another – ever since. A graduate of Birmingham and London Universities, he has performed with professional ensembles and vocal groups both in Israel and abroad (the Cameran Singers, NIVE, New York Ensemble for Early Music etc.). When not singing, Peter enjoys writing, climbing and cooking ... though not all at the same time.
